STOP KILLINGS
The situation in Kashmir seems to be tense again as the terrorists have again started targeting the civilians to spread fear and create sense of insecurity among the people living in the region. It is ghastly act by which terrorists have shot dead a civilian and injured a non-local vendor in two separate incidents in Budgam and Pulwama districts. This is not the first time in the recent past that such target killing has taken place because a few months earlier also the Valley saw similar situation when hundreds of migrant labourers left for their home states to escape the threat which was looming large. It is pertinent to mention that terrorists fired at and injured a civilian near his residence in Gothpora area of Budgam in central Kashmir, who later succumbed to his injuries in a local hospital while in second incident in Pulwama, a non-local vendor from Bihar was injured after terrorists fired at him at Circular Road. Both these incidents are testimony to the fact that terrorists are being pressurized to vitiate peace and send shock waves across the Valley to create an atmosphere of trepidation to create another spell of unrest as the government of India led by PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah has mounted pressure on the terrorists through successful anti-terror operations in the Valley killing hundreds of terror mongers including the so-called top terrorist commanders. It is the responsibility of the security forces to design a strategy to stop terror mongers from stoking fear in the Valley through these cowardly acts because every effort should be made to stop the killings of the innocents. This however is a very difficult task as providing security to each and every resident or migrant worker is not possible because for this a cop is required for every single citizen of the Valley. This thing is known to the terrorists also that government cannot provide security to every single person therefore they use this horrendous way to mount pressure on government. Strong Intelligence network can play a significant role in stopping the killing spree and also the synergy between various belt forces working in the Valley. The government should focus on these aspects to contain violence in the Valley and then anticipate for restoration of peace.
