DB directs ASGI to file affidavit for regarding time frame for completing Metrolite Project for Jammu city
JKUT (Jammu), December-13-2021-( JNF):- In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Citizen Forum through its President RK Chadha regarding fly-over project from Shakuntla-Janipur fly over proposed in 2008 has been abandoned for some extraneous reasons and regarding -congesting/widening of the Amphalla – Janipur road and regard to de-congesting/widening of the Janipur – High Court Road.
A Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court Comprising Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Javed Iqbal Wani after hearing Adv Aditya Sharma for the PIL whereas AG DC Raina with AAG Ravinder Gupta for the UT, directed Assistant Solicitor General of India Vishal Sharma to seek instructions if Metrolite Project for Jammu city have been approved and the time frame within which the Government proposes to complete the same and directed to file affidavit before December 23, 2021.
This significant direction has been passed when respondents in this PIL have come out with a stand that there is no such proposal for the construction of the flyover and that now the city of Jammu is under Smart City Project and there is a Metrolite Project for Jammu city so as to ease out the flow of traffic. The said projects have to be funded by the Central Government. JNF
