Rashtriya Ekta Diwas: Pledge taking ceremonies held across Jammu division
JAMMU, OCTOBER 31: Rich tributes were today paid to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary amid holding of Ekta pledge here across Jammu division.
The day is celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) to commemorate the great contribution of India’s Iron Man towards integration and unity of the country in the post Independence era.
Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer paid rich tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as he administered the unity pledge to the officers and officials.
A pledge taking ceremony was also held in the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Jammu Division. Deputy Director Headquarter, Dr. Rehana Akhtar Bijli administered the unity pledge to the officials of the department.
AT KISHTWAR: National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) was observed by taking a unity pledge across all the government offices in district Kishtwar.
In the main function, Deputy Commissioner Ashok Sharma administered a unity pledge to district officers and staff in the premises of DC office Complex.
Later, a special motorbike rally, which was organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports, was flagged off by the DC in presence of Additional District Development Commissioner, Sham Lal; Joint Director Planning Mohammad Iqbal; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Akhter Hussain Qazi; Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishore Singh Katoch; DYSSO, Kharati Lal Sharma; CAO, SK Bhagat; CHO , Mushtaq Ahmed Wani; BDOs besides other district and sectoral officers.
About 31 bikers and 10 assistants holding National Flag took part in rally which set off from the DC office complex and passed through Kuleed Chowk, TRC , SSP office, Sangram Bhatta village, police check post Wasser and culminated back at DC office, covering a distance of 8 KM.
AT DODA: Department of Youth Services Sports observed National unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
As part of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) celebration was held in all 10 Zones of the District under the direction of Director Youth Services & Sports, Gazanfar Ali. A Padh Yatra was organised by DYSSO Jaffar Haider Sheikh comprising 70 Students and 60 assisting staff members headed by Pritam Singh ZPEO Bhalla.
The rally was taken out in presence of senior officers/officials soon after the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge.
The Padh Yatra started from MS Khellani Top to Main Market Bhalla covering 3.5 Km distance.
Meanwhile, Rashtria Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) parade /pledge ceremony was organised by District Police Doda under the supervision of SSP Mumtaz Ahmed at all its unit Headquarters.
The main function was held at District Police Line where contingents of CRPF, IRP, SSB and District Police participated in Eikta Diwas parade led by DySP DAR Shokat Ali.
Additional SP Bhaderwah, Abdul Qayoom was the chief Guest and all officers of District Police were present.
AT RAJOURI: To commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Patel, the District Administration Rajouri observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.
The main program was organised here at PWD Dak Bungalow where rich tributes were paid to Iron Man of India on his birth anniversary amid the holding of the Ekta pledge. The Ekta Pledge was read by DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir.
Addressing the participants, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan highlighted the great contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel towards integration and unity of the country in the post Independence era.
He also appealed to the public to stay united and work together with the District Administration for the peace, prosperity and development of the region.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Pawan Parihar; Additional Deputy Commisisoner, Sach Dev Singh; CEO, Gulzar Hussain; CMO, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti and other district Officers teachers participated in the event.
Meanwhile, Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajouri celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas at Panorama Public School by holding a Unity Pledge. Scores of Youth and Students participated enthusiastically and took the Unity Pledge.
Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Principal Panorama Public School was the Chief Guest. Among others present were Vikrant Sharma, National Youth Awardee and State Resource Person NYK Rajouri, Sadhu Ram Salgotra.
AT REASI: To mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, District Administration Reasi organised a pledge ceremony at Conference Hall DC Office Complex.
On this occasion, ADDC Jyoti Salathia led the pledge taking ceremony attended by all the District Officers as well as Officials. The Officers/officials pledged to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation and also strive hard to spread this message among our fellow countrymen.
ADDC highlighted the importance of national unity and integrity and said that Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. She said that these moments provide an opportunity ‘to all of us to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security to our Nation.’
Additional Deputy Commissioner Abdul Star; CMO Rajeev Sharma; Chief Education Officer Mohammad Aziz and other Officers/Officials were present.
AT KATHUA: Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Yadav flagged off ‘Run for Unity’ – a student rally to mark the National Unity Day.
Deputy Director, Youth Services & Sports Jatinder Kumar Mishra, DYSSO Sunil Kumar and members of youth clubs in large numbers participated in the rally which started from Dream Land Park in the wee hours of Sunday morning and passed through the important points of the Kathua town and culminated at District Sports Stadium .
Later, the Deputy Commissioner administered Ekta Pledge to the participants including Officers, Officials and young students.
Addressing the participants, the DC, Rahul Yadav said the young students must remember the valued contribution of great personalities like Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, who worked for the unification of diverse states and territories into the modern Union of India. He said it is the duty of every citizen to work for the National Unity and remain vigilant against the forces trying to weaken the internal security of the Nation. ‘The youth must remember and take forward the ethos of unity and integrity especially when the Nation is celebrating 75th year of Indian Independence’ as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,’ he added.
At Ramban: To mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as the National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) District Administration Ramban organised a pledge taking ceremony here at the District Administrative Complex.
Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mussarat Islam, administered the Pledge to the officers and officials to resolve to work for the national unity and integrity of India.
ADDC Rajinder Sharma; ADC Harbans Lal and other senior officers and officials were present on the occasion.
Similar pledge taking functions were also held in other Govt offices across the District.
AT POONCH: District Administration Poonch, under the aegis of Deputy Commissioner, Inder Jeet celebrated National unity day here at conference Hall of DC office. The function was attended by all the officers of district administration.
The celebration started with the Pledge taking ceremony and the participants resolved to preserve the unity and Integrity of the Nation & promised to strengthen & preserve the National Integration and dedicate themselves for the Country.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also flagged off a bike rally which commenced from the DC Office and culminated at the sports stadium.
District Youth & Sports Officer, Mohammad Qasim, PEM, Vijay Kumar and their field staff also participated in the rally.
In his address, the DC highlighted the importance of this day & emphasized that ‘We must strengthen the Unity, Integrity, Sovereignty & Spirit of Brotherhood in the nation and to spread this message among our Countrymen.’
AT UDHAMPUR: To mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, District Administration Udhampur organised a pledge ceremony at Conference Hall of DC Office Complex.
Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib administered the pledge to all the Officers/ Officials on the occasion. The officers/officials pledged to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation and also strive hard to spread this message among our fellow countrymen.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC highlighted the importance of national unity and integrity and said that Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated every year to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. She further said that these moments provide an opportunity to all of us to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country.

AT SAMBA: To mark National Unity Day ( Rashtriya Ekta Diwas), District Administration Samba on Sunday organised pledge ceremonies and a Bike Rally at Rani Suchet Singh Sports Stadium.
The Bike Rally was organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports in collaboration with District Administration Samba.
Locals across the ages participated in the Bike rally and spread the message of National Sovereignty and Integrity.
Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta, while observing the National Unity Day at administrative complex DC office administered pledge to all officers and officials.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Tilak Raj Shastri; Additional Deputy Commissioner Suram Chand Sharma; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Ravinder Kumar, besides other district officers and officials were also present.
Similar pledge ceremonies were also organized at other district offices and teshil as well as block level offices.
