DDC Kathua reviews implementation of Agriculture, allied sector schemes
KATHUA, OCTOBER 12: District Development Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Yadav today chaired a meeting to take review of implementation of schemes of Agriculture and allied sectors.
At the outset, the Chief Agriculture Officer gave a detailed presentation on the Action Plan for the year 2021-22 under Centrally Sponsored Schemes, Capex Budget and PRIs grants in respect of District Kathua.
The allied sector departments like Horticulture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Sheep husbandry, Sericulture also presented their Action Plan 2021-22 in the meeting.
The DDC directed the Agriculture Department to adopt Cluster area approach while implementing the National Bamboo Mission for getting optimum results. He also directed the department to develop to follow the Jevika Model for holistic development of micro-irrigation by tapping natural perennial water resources particularly in kandi and rain fed areas. He also directed the CAO to formulate the DPR so that funds were arranged from concerned authorities.
The DDC also called for promoting the Poly house concept as this farming technique guarantees more yield in a conditioned environment.
He directed the concerned officers of Agriculture and Horticulture Departments to ensure that the benefit of Machinery Banks reaches out to masses.
The department of Horticulture Production and Marketing was asked to open wayside Mandies in Lakhanpur for direct Marketing.
While taking review of the Sericulture schemes, the DDC called for giving focused attention to tap the huge potential in the areas with suitable climate.
