Commissioner F&DA asks all stakeholders to come forward and guide youth against drug abuse
SRINAGAR, JUNE 26: On International Day against Drug Abuse, Commissioner Food and Drug Administration (F&DA), Shakeel ur Rehman asked all the stakeholders who are mandated in eradicating the menace of drug abuse to come forward with the mission to guide the general masses especially youth to abstain from such habits.
Commissioner FDA reiterated that the department shall strengthen its activities and take stringent action against the law breakers, further the department has displayed hoardings/banners for creating awareness among the youth.
On spot directions were passed on that awareness programmes shall be conducted in schools , colleges, and universities in every district. It was emphasized that matters will be taken up with the government about allocation of source money, and the police department will be engaged for joint raids in unregulated trade.
Commissioner FDA also directed that licensed dealers be informed that any untoward involvement in illicit trade, shall warrant cancellation at an immediate effect. Proper records of habit forming drugs at district and divisional level to be monitored by the Drug control officers of this department.
Besides rallies /seminars, hoardings, banners were placed at district headquarters of the division to create awareness in the general masses especially among the youth. The department being one of the strongest stakeholders shall carry out further action in this regard.
Dy. Drugs Controller Kashmir, Dy Drugs Controller Intelligence and legal cell Kashmir, Drug Analyst Kashmir and other officers of the Drug and Food control organisation attended the meeting.
