Advisor Bhatnagar visits URI
Reviews progress of ongoing developmental works, Covid control measures
SRINAGAR, JUNE 20: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar today visited Uri, Baramulla and chaired a meeting to review the progress of various ongoing developmental works under taken by different departments in the district besides reviewing the Health care facilities in the area.
The Advisor was accompanied by DDC Member Boniyar, Additional DC Baramulla, BDC Paranpillan, BDC Noorkhah, BMO Uri, Tehsildar Uri, AEE Jal Shakti, SDPO and other concerned officials of several departments. He also interacted with NHPC and CISF officials.
Speaking during the meet the Advisor impressed upon the officials of the executing agencies to speed up the pace of work of all developmental projects in the area and ensure their completion within stipulated time frame. He directed the officers of these executing agencies to gear up their men and machinery for effective and timely completion of these developmental projects as the area is having less working period due to inclement weather conditions.
Advisor Bhatnagar further impressed upon senior officers to be available in the field and strengthen inter-departmental coordination so that physical targets are met and translated on the ground.
He asked the officers to improve public service delivery so that public can be facilitated at each and every level.
While reviewing the Covid control measures in the area, the Advisor asked the officials to speed up the vaccination drives in the area so that maximum population can be inoculated in less time. He stressed upon the officials to make Vaccination drive more people friendly. He stressed on ensuring COVID appropriate behaviour.
While interacting with DDC Members, BDCs and other locals who raised several developmental issues, Advisor Bhatnagar assured them that all of their genuine issues will be resolved on priority. He assured them that water supply in the area will be completed under Jal Jeevan Mission.
Advisor Bhatnagar directed the concerned departments for maintaining an efficient public grievance redressal system and stressed on effective Information Education and Communication (IEC) activities in the area with the involvement of PRIs and general public and eliciting greater public participation in developmental works.
