VC SKUAST inaugurates plantation drive
JAMMU, JUNE 10- Vice Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology Jammu and Kashmir, Professor J P Sharma, today inaugurated plantation drive organized by Sankalp Boy Hostel, SKUAST Jammu, in collaboration with CISF.
“Plants are the real essence of nature and during the Covid-19 pandemic we are realizing the importance of plants more widely across the globe”, remarked the VC.
Professor Sharma launched the drive by planting sapling of Mango (Mangifera indica). He emphasized the importance and benefits of trees in maintaining ecological balance for survival of mankind and appealed all to plant more and more trees in their premises and surroundings.
Dr. Jag Paul Sharma, Director Research & Registrar, Dr. Bikram Singh, Dean, FoA, Dr. M. S. Bhadwal, Dean, F.V.Sc & AH, Dr. S.E.H Rizvi, Dean, Faculty of Basic Sciences, Dr. S. K. Gupta, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Rajesh Katoch, Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Anil Kumar, Head FSR Centre, Dr. Sudhakar Dwivedi, Hostel Warden of Sankalp Boy Hostel and Nodal Officer ICAR and heads of the different divisions were also present during the plantation drive.
