Rajni Bala kick-starts laying of water pipes worth Rs 78 Lakhs

JAMMU, MAR 13:
Aiming to provide safe drinking water to every household, Corporator Ward no-60 Rajni Bala today kick started the work of worth Rs 78 lakh for lying water pipes and assured three tubewells in the area of worth Rs 80 lakh each.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajni Bala said that she committed for the development of the ward. “Every inch of ward of will be developed,” she said.
The senior Congress leader also slammed previous government for adopting casual approach toward addressing the problems being faced by people. “The safe drinking water is basic necessity of people, but the previous regimes failed to provide safe drinking water in these areas,” she said.
The Councilor said that there is acute shortage of drinking water supply due to defunct pipe network. She said that the new pipe network would cater needs of hundreds of houses who were either forced to purchase drinking water or they have to go to other places to fetch water.
Informing about the works, Rajni Bala said that the estimated cost of work is Rs 78 lakh. “The work includes 8 inch dia pipe will be laid from Mohalla Gujjar Paloura to Mohalla Tiny Tot Dhok Paloura and improvement to existing distribution system by replacing existing pipes by higher size ones at adjoing areas also. she said, adding that three tube-wells will also be established soon in the area with the cost of Rs 80 Lakhs each. “Once the tubewells will be completed the people will get safe drinking water and adequate water supply,” she added.
Executive Engineer PHE, City 1st Division along with AEE Sethi, J.E and other staff and locals including sh Som Nath Sharma, Chander Mohan Sharma, Om Parkash, Ajmer Singh, Tarun Vaid, Shvirender Mehta, Parshotam Kumar, Anita Kumari, Dev Raj, Harbans Lal, Nitu, Ballu, Ramash, Hans, Vinay Baru and Dayal Singh and others were also present.
