Panic gripped in down town Srinagar on Saturday after some devotees found a body in a mosque early this morning, official sources said.
They said a group of devotees entered a mosque at Zadibal area in the down town Srinagar to offer morning (Fajr) prayers.
However, police was immediately informed , they said adding the body was taken away by the police for identification.
Sources said the deceased was identified as Abdul Qayoum Khan, a resident of Gilikadal Zonimar.
The cause of his death was not known, they said adding police has registered a case and initiated proceedings.
