Despite the best effort of JKPCC Chief GA Mir to placate the Gupkar Alliance and plead for joint contesting of DDC elections as a face saving exercise since the end result being very obvious to him, the game plan of the state unit of Congress, a cadre less political entity in J&K suffered a setback when its Central leadership decided to disassociate from Gupkar Alliance due to its negative fallout at the national level. Since then Congress has been struggling to find candidates willing to contest on its symbol and has been unable to field candidates for large number of territorial constituencies surrendering to the alliance candidates terming it as “friendly adjustments”, proving the fact that the party has been reduced to a “non-entity” in the electoral scene of J&K asserted Brig Veteran Anil Gupta Spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party.
Rather than questioning the campaigning strategy of the BJP, the Congress leadership will do well to sort their own house first and analyse reasons for the party’s continuous dismal performance at one election after the other. BJP is a cadre based party with each member contributing towards party’s campaigning in the elections irrespective of his appointment or stature in the party at the local or central level in keeping with the party’s motto of Nation First, Party Next and Self Last. Congress on the other hand is a party of dynasts where the campaign strategy is decided by one Family without any consideration to the aspirations of the cadre/workers stated Brig Gupta. The success rate of the two parties illustrates clearly which strategy has proved successful exposing the humiliation suffered by the Congress party. Yet its leadership refuses to learn but instead wastes time in finding fault with BJP’s strategy rued Brig Gupta.
The people have got so used to hollow slogans and false accusations of the Congress that they no longer take their statements seriously and display their displeasure with the hollowness of Congress while exercising their franchise. The speeches of the Congress leaders at different rallies sound like a “broken record” making unsubstantiated accusations against the BJP without making any impact on the voters. Lies and manufactured allegations like “BJP is running away from holding assembly elections or DDC elections are no substitute for assembly elections” made by JKPCC President GA Mir are not only laughable but regrettable as well because they display his “hollowness”.
“As is well known the assembly elections cannot be held before the process of fresh delimitation is completed. Can Mir explain how BJP is responsible for not holding the elections? Similarly, the District Councils and the State Assembly have a distinct and clear cut Charter of Duties. How can one replace the other,” questioned Brig Gupta? The people know that Congress has nothing to offer to them and that is why their leaders follow single point agenda of criticising and blaming BJP.
The fear of Congress was exposed yesterday when the son in law of its leader Taj Mohidin was caught red handed by the people in Kamalkote, Uri distributing money to the voters and handed over to the local police. In doing so Congress has made a mockery of the Indian democracy accused Brig Gupta. BJP has reported the matter to Election Commission.
