Govt forces launch CASO, find vehicle used in Srinagar attack

Jammu and Kashmir Police and army on Wednesday claimed to have recovered a Maruti 800 vehicle that, they said, was used by the militants in an attack on the army’s Quick Reaction Team in Srinagar’s HMT area.

 

On 26 November, the militants had attacked the army’s QRT and killed two troopers. Unnamed official sources told a local news agency, Global News Service, the police and army’s 2 Rashtriya Rifle (RR) launched a cordon-and-search operation at Mustaffabad, in HMT Srinagar, and recovered a Maruti 800 car, JK 04 A-6535, which they said was snatched by the militants from a civilian.

When this report was filed, the searches in the area were going on and no arrest was made.
