Dr Abdullah, Omar, NC leaders pay tributes to Sheikh on his 115th birthday

Former Chief Ministers (CMs) Dr Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah on Saturday paid tributes to late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, founder of National Conference (NC) on his 115th birth anniversary.

Meanwhile, the NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar today set in motion party membership drive 2020-2021 and first tickets were taken by NC president Dr Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah.

 

Wearing masks and keeping social distance Dr Abdullah, president of NC and other senior leaders of NC offered fateha and floral wreaths at the grave of former CM Sheikh Abdullah, who played an important role in signing of accession of Muslim majority state of Jammu and Kashmir with the Union of India by Maharaja Hari Singh on October 26, 1947.

Later Omar Abdullah also offered fateha and floral tributes at the grave of grand father Sheikh Abdullah.

Describing Sheikh as revolutionary reformer, a NC spokesman said his unconditional service to the people of J&K will continue to guide the party.
