A delegation of Stone Crusher Owners Association (SCOA) led by Former Member Legislative Council (MLC) and President SCOA, Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today called upon the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha and discussed various issues pertaining to the stone crusher industry.
During his meeting with the Lt Governor, the president of SCOA informed that the stone crushers in Jammu and Kashmir are registered with District Industry Centres (DICs) and intends to pay royalty directly to the Geology and Mining Department instead of paying it through middlemen i.e., mining mafia. He said that it is astonishing that the department of Geology and Mining itself in creating hurdles in the smooth functioning of this industry which is at the verge of collapse. He also informed the Lt Guv that the implementation of SRO 302 is unnecessary harassment to the units which were established before 2017. He sought the intervention and necessary directions of the Lt Guv in this regard to the department of Geology and Mining.
He further informed the Lt Guv that the stone crusher industry plays an important role in providing construction material and closer of this industry would impact the ongoing development process in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Lt Guv gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured redressal of all genuine demands.
