2 J&K Girls Bn NCC under aegis of NCC Group HQ Jammu, commenced Combined Annual Training Camp at NCC Camping ground, Nagrota from 05 Nov 2020. The camp is being conducted for both boy and girl cdts (SD/SW/JD/JW) hailing from different schools and colleges of Bhaderwah, Poonch, Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur and Jammu Districts.
The duration of this camp is from 05 Nov to 11 Nov 2020 and around 250 cadets along with Associate NCC Officers are participating. As per HQ DG, NCC guidelines and keeping in view the covid situation the duration of the camp has been reduced to 07 days. In this camp also adequate precautions are being taken as per COVID-19 Protocols so as to ensure complete safety of the attendees. Cadets went through a Rapid-Antigen Test for COVID immediately on arrival. COVID tests were conducted by team of NHM headed by Dr Atul Khajuria. Camp Commandant, CO,2 J&K Girls Bn in his welcome address to cadets emphasized on safety and security and motivated cadets to utilize their time judiciously and strive to learn and gain maximum from this camp. He enlightened the cadets to practice personal hygiene & sanitation and also acquainted them with the major takeaways from this camp so as to boost the morale of the promising cadets. The massive participation seen from cadets and ANOs in this camp reflects that training imparted during last camp has sent a positive feedback among cadets leading them to shed their apprehensions and extend their involvement to receive practical training in subjects like map reading, firing, field craft & Battle craft, tent pitching and obstacles considered useful in NCC B and C Certificate exams. Brig N R Babu, Deputy Director General, JK&L Directorate also visited the camp and reviewed training activities and ongoing works for better administration.
