eacting to Public Affairs Index (PAI)-2020 placing the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir at the bottom in the best governance index, former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti said ‘it is clear that development serves as a smokescreen to initiate demographic changes in J&K and plunder its resources’.
“According to a recent survey on governance in UTs, J&K figures at the bottom. Clearly, development & ‘vikas’ serves as a smokescreen to initiate demographic changes in J&K & plunder its resources,” Mehbooba, who is the president of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
Reacting to the low ranking, Peoples Conference chairman Sajad Gani Lone said, “What a pathetic mismatch between figures and non-stop blabbering about administrative performance.”
“Must say though. They have religiously threatened to perform,” he tweeted.
J&K has bagging sixth slot in governance among seven UTs in India in the PAI. J&K with (-0.50) score is only ahead of Dadar and Nagar Haveli having (-0.69) score.
