Former MLA from Ramban has strongly protested against the Technical Education department (J&K)

Ashok Kumar, Former MLA from Ramban, has strongly protested against the Technical Education department (J&K) and urged upon the Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir to direct all the concerned authorities to immediately kick start the remaining work of PolytechnicCollegebuilding complex, Chanderkote which has been stopped from last 2 years as the result many technical students are suffering badly due to non availability of proper college infrastructure and practical labs. There is a urgent and dire need to shift students of Polytechnic who are adjusting in single room from last 6 years and lacks all essential facilities. It is a great injustice to the young students and at the same time the concerned authorities are squandering government exchequer as the allotted cost of the building complex is 13 crore which hasbeen raised by tax paid by common people of this country.

Ashok has further claimed that the locals who have given their valuable agricultural and fertile land for the construction of polytechnic college however, there are many discrepancies on the records of lands and an attempt to grab the land by concerned government officials as claimed by the locals. Government should constitute new committee under revenue department to review the field report and anomalies in the process of land acquisition and measurements regarding the construction of building complex. He also stressed upon the government to give employment to one person of each family who had given land at very lowest rate for the construction of polytechnic college at Chanderkote, Ramban.
Ashok further demanded to concerned authorities to repair the road along with blacktopping from NH-44 to Polytechnic Building complex. He also demanded the extension of road up to ShamShanGhatalong with blacktopping as locals of Chanderkote has to face lot of difficulties to move across the difficult and steep slopes on a cliff near Chenab river.
