A delegation led by former MLA Ganderbal, Ishfaq Jabbar today called upon the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole and raised various local issues with him.
The delegation demanded construction of under ground drainage system at Bakura main road in Fakh area of Ganderbal which is causing inconvenience to the people.
“The inhabitants of the locality are living in miserable condition, in unhygienic conditions,” Jabbar said.
Mr Jabbar demanded that the work on the drain may be started immediately. “I request that the work on drain be started before the onset of winter so as to minimize the difficulties faced by people,” Jabbar said.
He said that the Urban Environment and Engineering Department (UEED) has already made a DPR and may be directed to start the work.
Jabbar also demanded macdamization of all inner links of Bakura village.
On which Div Com directed the Chief Engineer R&B for temporary restoration of the drain and assured delegation that he will take up your demands with Administrative department.
Ishfaq also raised the issue of Central University of Kashmir with Div Com and said that the work at the identified site needs to be taken on priorty basis.
He demanded that till construction of concrete buildings more pre fabricated huts be constructed at Tullamulla site, the statement added.
Ishfaq said that Div Com assured me and extend his ful support to start the work on war footing basis at designated site and shifting of university to the designated site at Tullamulla and will sought a report of my last visit to the site at Tullamulla, the statement reads.
