JKNPP protests, consigns Fire Services Deptt select list to flames

Alleging unprecedented bias against Jammu region, and its youth in particular, post Art 370 abrogation, the NPP activists led by Mr. Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP held a massive protest at Jammu today. The protesters consigned the recently issued select list of Fire Services Deptt to flames and raised slogans of “ Jammu Virodhi Bhajpa Hai Hai”, “ Jammu Ke Jaichand Hai Hai”, “ Fire Services Deptt Ki Select list cancel Karo, Cancel Karo”,etc.Addressing the media persons, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that it was ironical Jammu youth had suffered the most hostile discrimination in govt jobs during the BJP rule . “Our youth were given a step motherly treatment in services not only during the BJP-PDP rule but the said discriminatory treatment has continued even after the Re- organization of State and its conversion into Union Territory. This is the first select list issued by the govt after Art 370 abrogation where in barely 10% share has been given to the youth of Jammu region. Moreover the highly qualified candidates have been ignored and middle pass are selected indicating the deep rooted culture of patronized corruption which has engulfed our administrative system. There are further districts like Udhampur and Poonch where from barely one or two candidates have been selected in the General category”, regretted Mr. Singh.Seeking a judicial probe into the said selections, Mr. Singh said that the recently released list had been rejected by the educated unemployed as a fraud played upon the youth and the NPP had set it on fire to highlight the raging anger amongst the youth of Jammu region. Accusing the BJP of maintaining a criminal silence over the issue of heightened bias against Jammu region youth, Mr. Singh said that the Saffron Partry had penned down its obituary by disregarding the sentiments of the very youth who catapulted it to power. “The BJP must read the writing on the wall. It’s pampering of Kashmir at the cost of Jammu region will cost it dearly. The lotus shall never bloom in Kashmir”, said NPP Chairman. Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Rajesh Padgotra, Paramjeet Marshall, Parshotam Parihar, Surinder Chouhan, Shankaar Singh Sanju, Ashok Sumbria, Rahul Singh, Sanjay Bhagat, Kirti Fangotra, Gurdeep Singh Raju besides others.
