India reported 61,267 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the caseload to 6.69 million on Tuesday, data from the Union Health Ministry showed.
Deaths from the infections rose by 884 to 1,03,569, the Ministry added.
India’s death toll from novel coronavirus rose past 1,00,000 on Saturday and became the third country in the world to reach that bleak milestone. The United States and Brazil stand at number and two, respectively.
Last week, India further eased restrictions and permitted states to open schools and movie theatres.
