Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta alongwith officers / officials of concerned section today on 05.10.2020 visited in the Vital Statistics as well as Election Section of Jammu Municipal Corporation and took stock of working of both the Sections of JMC where large number of visitors approach for getting Birth / Death Certificates, Voter Lists and other allied documents. During the inspection, certain directions were issued to the Staff Members by the Mayor with regard to maintaining of proper social distancing and timely disposal of the applications received by the Birth / Death and Election Section to issue the certificates in view of COVID – 19 Pandemic.
Mayor further said that JMC has also installed POS Machines in the Vital Statistic Section to avoid any type of revenue loss as well as Corrupt Practices; JMC has also started Home delivery of Birth & Death Certificates under “Door Step Governance” initiative. The online system has been launched to avoid enormous gathering of General Public and to promote contactless efficient public service delivery system. This initiative is being taken to promote Digital India and E-Governance initiative of Government of India. Mayor said that it will provide great relief to the general public and also eliminate the requirements to reach JMC Office for such services. He also appeal the general public to take full benefit of the online services launched by the JMC and to avoid approaching JMC for getting their Birth & Death Certificates in view of COVID – 19 Pandemic. He also went around whole complex of Town hall and gave on spot instructions to the supervisory staff of Health & Transport section to deploy available Safaikarmcharies, Autos as well as install Dustbins at suitable places in the complex and get the Town Hall properly cleaned on daily basis.
Earlier Mayor alongwith Madam Tripta Devi Councillor of Ward No: 66 also kick started the Black Topping work in the various roads & inner lanes at Sharika Vihar Sec No: 01 of ward No: 66 on the demands of locals as these roads were badly damaged and people of the area were facing great hardships while driving their vehicles & walking through these area. Sh. Tara Chand BJP Mandal Pardhan Muthi Paloura, Sh. Shallu Singh Media Secretary, Sh. Dev Khajuria & other prominent inhabitants of the ward as well as Sh. Vasudev Junior Engineer PWD & other field staff were also remained present there. Mayor was apprised that an amount of Rs. 2.61 Lacs has been sanctioned for these Macadization works in this ward. He directed the concerned to complete the Black topping with best quality & durable material & upto the satisfaction of the locals.
Besides this, the Mayor alongwith Madam Rani Devi Councillor of Ward No: 34 also inaugurated Registration Camp for Golden Cards under the Pradhanmantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana (PMABY) at Janipur Area. Sh. Raj Kumar & Other Prominent inhabitants of the ward were also present there. Mayor said that it is our duty to serve the needy & poor people and this is best medical Scheme launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India where every Citizen can get themselves registered and take full benefit of these schemes. He appeal to the General Public to come forward and avail this Medical Facility in this period of CoronaVirus Pandemic.
