Family members of another youth, who has reportedly joined militancy about six days ago, have appealed him to return home in the central Kashmir district of Badgam.
We aged parents appeal you to return home for the sake of your four-year-old son and pregnant wife, said the appealed to Tariq Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Hanji Gund Chadoora in Badgam district who left his home on Friday without informing anyone.
The parents said tha Tariq, a three wheeler driver, left home on September 18 and did not return. Later, after he could not be traced despite massive searches, a missing was lodged in police station Chadoora on September 20.
They said an audio message by Tariq said he has joined militancy.
Expressing shock over Tariq’s joining militancy, the appeal request him to return back to home for his son and pregnant wife and parents.
They further appealed to militants to send Tariq back to home.
Similar appeals were also made earlier by family members of two youths who had joined militancy in south Kashmir early this month.
Over 20 youths who had joined militancy have shunned the path of violence and joined their families after hectic efforts by police, security forces and family members in the Kashmir valley, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh said.
He appealed to youth who had gone astray to return back to mainstream and lead a normal life with their families.
He said two militants were allowed to surrender during encounters in south Kashmir last month.
