Intelligentia must come forward to save Jammu: Harsh

“With Jammu reeling under acute stress in view of its continued neglect and deprivation even after J&K’s reorganization and abrogation of Article 370, the saner elements of the region need to come forward to support and strengthen those who were fighting for justice to this incarcerated and marginalized Dogra land. While all assurances of helmsmen, of empowering Jammu and undoing all discrimination doled out to it in the past, having proved a damp squib, the people’s anger against the BJP regime was growing with each passing day. While the unemployed and underemployed youth were already on roads, the general masses were feeling greatly concerned over the stalled development, soaring corruption and most menacing threat of rising prices. With 4G internet continuing to remain elusive and Jammu flooded with Toll Plazas, the people in general were feeling let down by their own leaders. Under such circumstances it was NPP leadership alone which was projecting the issues of the common man and fighting the anti Jammu decisions of the powers that be at the risk of their own security”. This was stated by Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman-JKNPP & former Minister who was addressing a press conference along with Prof. Jai Kumar Sharma, a renowned educationist/economist who joined NPP along with several other Rtd. bureaucrats and intellectuals. Pertinent to mention that Mr. Jai Kumar Sharma had served as Director Colleges, Additional Controller of Examinations and Special Secretary to Vice Chancellor JU before his retirement. Others who joined NPP today included Mr. Kulbhushan Singh Sambyal Retd Joint Director Agriculture, Prof. GP Singh specialist in Hospitality & Tourism and Choudhary Gurdeep Singh, a prominent businessman of Jammu.
