A deputation of All J&K VDC Members Union led by its State President Shanti Bhushan Sharma calls upon Kr. Rajeev Charak BJP J&K Head Department of Good Governance & Center State Coordination and apprised him about their long pending demand for creating a policy for providing monetary honorarium to them at par SPO’s.
Shanti Bhushan Sharma said that they came forward and offered their services as defence of civil society Village Defence Committee (VDC) at each village level framed by the Government to safe guard the interest of people of J&K and particularly in Jammu Division when the militancy was at peak and some incidents of mass killings were experienced in areas like Chapa, Dessa, Kuluhand, Chill, Chake kundi & Chhuchhattar of Saraj area etc. He added that as per policy framed, they have to render their services along with those who were designated as SPO’s and SPO’s have to share their emoluments among the appointed VDC’s. He further said that initially they were at the disposal of SPO’s and received emoluments for few years but since long they have not received a single penny and living a miserable life of liabilities as they have no source of any income, they even can not able to earn their livelihood. He appeals and requested Kr. Rajeev Charak to kindly represent their basic and genuine demand for the early announcement of policy for monetary honorarium to meet their basic and pecuniary need.
Kr. Rajeev Charak heard the deputation very patiently and assured them that their genuine demand will soon be represent by him at all concerned platforms for the early disposal and provide them justice for the voluntarily services rendered by them in order to safeguard the nation. Charak added that we believe in the mantra “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Vishwas” by our dynamic Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and we are committed to work in that direction. He appeals HE Hon’ble Governor UT of J&K Manoj Sinha to consider the genuine demand of VDC’s on merits and directed the authorities to take some necessary steps and do justice with them.
