DGP sanctions rupees 2.60 crore special welfare relief for NoKs of personnel who died in harness

In its endeavor to provide financial assistance to the families of the Police personnel who have passed away in harness, the Director General of Police Shri Dilbag Singh has sanctioned rupees 2.60 crore as Special Welfare Relief in favour of dependents/legal heirs of 13 such deceased Police personnel. The DGP also sanctioned ex-gratia relief in favour of NOKs of CRPF personnel who attained martyrdom in a terror attack in Anantnag.

The special welfare relief of rupees 20 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased Police personnel, ASIs Surinder Singh, Mohammad Yameen, Abdul Rashid, Mahesh Kumar, HCs Ghulam Nabi, Vinod Kumar, SgCts Mushtaq Ahmad, Ravinder Singh, Bishan Dass, Dinesh Kumar, Followers Ghulam Hussan, Sain Mohammad and Kajal Kumar who expired during service due to health related issues.

The financial assistance in favour of these families has been sanctioned out of Contributory Welfare Fund. Out of this rupee one lakh each was already paid to the deceased’s family for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the concerned units.

The DGP has also sanctioned rupees 5 lakh ex-gratia relief in favour of NOKs of  deceased CT/GD Shyamal Kumar Dey No. 150042712 of 90 Bn CRPF, who attained martyrdom in a terrorist attack at Bijbehara in Anantnag District.

Pertinent to mention that Police headquarters is running various scheme for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of martyrs, their wards as also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses.
