Continuing the drive to provide better development & civic amenities to the residents of Jammu City, Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith Sh. Anil Kumar Masoom, Councillor of ward No: 10 conducted an extensive tour of the ward and kick started the construction work of lanes & drains in the market at JDA Complex Super Bazar near City Chowk, Jammu. Sh. Sunil Kumar Sharma Executive Engineer, Sh. Ram Paul Sharma Junior Engineer Jammu Municipal Corporation, concerned contractor as well as Sh. Raj Kumar Gupta, Sh. Ravinder Gupta, Sh. Ajay Gupta, Sh. Sanjeev Sahweny, Sh. Vishaw Partap Singh, Sh. Rahul Sharma, Sh. Jatinder Vaid, Sh. Vipan Malhotra, Sh. Tarun Gupta & other Prominent Shopkeepers of the market were also present there. Mayor said that it was the long pending demands of the shopkeepers of the area and it has been delayed only due to lockdown & non-availability of requisite construction material & labourers & now the upgradation work has been started with the estimate cost of Rs. 3.18 lakh only having about 250 ft length of the lane by lying of tiles & other related construction work. Mayor further said that this market is a big business hub of Jammu City where large numbers of customers from Jammu as well as from other parts of UT come here for shopping as all types of daily used items are available at reasonable rates. He also announced that suitable benches will also be installed in the available space at corners of the JDA Market for sitting of customers and shopkeepers. Besides this, plantation drive will also be done in the open space for making the environment more eco friendly & full of greenery. Sh. Anil Kumar Hon’ble Councillor also spoke on the occasion & thanked the Mayor & engineering staff for fulfilling this pending demands of the shopkeepers to avoid further water logging in the market on a daily basis caused by broken drains & lanes.
Mayor directed the Engineering Wing to complete the upgradation of lane & drain of the market with quality material & upto the satisfaction of the shopkeepers within the stipulated time period & appeal to the general public to co-operate with JMC in various development works being undertaken by the department in various wards of the city as Jammu Municipal Corporation is committed to provide more & more development activities in Jammu City to make it neat, clean and green.
