Highlighting the problems faced by the people of Basantgarh, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman-JKNPP & former Minister today called upon the govt to address the concerns of people inhabiting the remote villages falling in Latti and Basantgarh Tehils on priority. He said that the far flung villages of the said belt were deprived of the basic amenities and were suffering immensely during the currency of Corona pandemic. The people had hardly any access to the corridors of power with helmsmen also indifferent towards the pathetic condition of the inhabitants of the area. He was addressing a delegation of people from the remote villages of the said Tehsils.
Endorsing the demand of the local people for opening of a timber depot at Basantgarh, Mr. Singh said that the concerned authorities needed to respond to people’s demand at the earliest. He said that huge timber scants including Deodar were being transported out of Basantgarh area but the needs of local people were being overlooked. They were not allowed to use even the idle and waste wood for fuel and other household purposes. Their timber requirements for household and construction purposes were also not being addressed.
Mr. Singh regretted that the timber depot opened during his tenure as MLA was also closed down and shifted outside the Tehsil resulting in great hardships for the people. He further called for early completion of electrification left over villages besides provision of adequate staff in the remote area schools. He sought re-opening of Ayurvedic dispensary Khaned closed down due to non availability of staff. He sought early creation of additional staff for HS Dudu that was upgraded several years back.
