Continuing the drive to provide better development and civic amenities to the people of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation in presence of Sh. Baldev Singh Billowaria Chairman Public Health & Sanitation Committee who is also the councilor of ward no.56, Smt Tirath Kour Raina Councilor of ward No: 58 today inaugurated Green Space at Jeewan nagar Jammu. Sardar Paramjeet Singh Pummy Senior BJP Leader alongwith other prominent dignitaries of the Jeewan nagar & its adjoining localities were also remained present during the inauguration function which was held in a simple manner. Sh. Arun Gupta Executive Engineer, Sh. Anil Gupta Assistant Executive Engineer, Sh. Daleep Raina Junior Engineer & other field staff of JMC also accompanied the Mayor. Mayor told that this was the long pending demands of the locals which has been fulfilled by the active efforts of concerned councilor & her team as there was no suitable Green space/park in the nearby locality for the children and old aged persons to inhale fresh air and morning & evening walk. Mayor further said that this work was delayed only due to nationwide lockdown and reminded that one such type of green space was inaugurated in ward no.56 Gangyal Jammu a few days back and the remaining two Green spaces which is also the part of this prestigious project under AMRUT scheme at the estimate cost of Rs 3.97 crore will also be thrown open for the General public within few days of time. He further told that this particular green space has been established along the canal side flowing through this area having three beautiful view points, multi play stations for children, beautiful benches for sitting arrangements as well as Pacca walkway of about 8 ft breadth . Besides this, LED lights have also been installed at the prominent places of green space to avoid any type of mishappenings due to prevailing darkness in the area. Moreover beautiful & durable tiles have also been installed around the Samadhian of martyrs situated within area of green spaces/park on the requests of locals to pay homage to martyrs. He further asked the engineering wing as well as locals to plant more and more ornamental, seasonal saplings in the vacant area to have eco environment atmosphere in the locality and appeal to the General public to cooperate with JMC in various development activities being undertaken by the deptt in making Jammu city neat, clean & green.
