To draw a roadmap for implementing ‘Manodarpan’–an initiative of Ministry of Human Resources and Development–on the ground, the Directorate of School Education on Thursday organised an online Consultation of Psychological Task Force.
The consultation programme was organised under the patronship of Anuradha Gupta, Director School Education Jammu.
‘Manodarpan’, is an initiative of MHRD regarding Psychological support to students, parents, teachers during COVID times and beyond.
Principals, District Institute of Education and Training (DIETs), District Nodal Officers counselling at DIETS, District counselling coordinators, Zonal counselling coordinators and teacher counsellors of Jammu Division participated in this online consultation. Head Counselling Cell DSEJ, Romesh Kumar Sharma was the key speaker and he explained in detail the MHRD initiatives like ‘Manodarpan’, recently launched toll-free helpline, counselling cell DSEJ initiatives for ensuring well being of the masses and roadmap to implement them on the ground.
Anuradha Gupta, Director of School Education Jammu emphasised on quantifying targets and working on professionalizing counselling services for students.
She said that counselling cells should make their reach to every student. In her address, she asked them to set quantifiable targets and to specify their area of interest so that the right person can be assigned the right job at the right time to achieve the set targets.
On the occasion of inauguration of ‘Manodarpan’, tele helpline, Dr R P Nishank, she appreciated the efforts of Counselling Cell DSEJ in providing psychological support and counselling to students, teachers, members of the community for mental health and emotional well-being.
She said that DSEJ has already envisioned it and implemented objectives of ‘Manodarpan’ in Jammu Division.
However, Mr Romesh Sharma motivated the Psychological Task Force members to work tirelessly to develop a counselling model for the whole nation.
Pertinently Counselling cell at Directorate of School Education Jammu has undertaken a lot of initiatives like constituting psychological task force, nominating district and zonal counselling coordinators, starting tele-counselling helpline for psychosocial support, the launch of counselling calendar, including counselling activities in DSEJ home assignments, organizing webinars on Well-being themes recently which are very much in line with the objectives of ‘Manodarpan’.
