Jammu and Kashmir: BJP leader Waseem Bari, family members killed by terrorists in Bandipora

In a dastardly act, terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Waseem Bari and his family members in Bandipora area in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. Two members of Bari’s family, including his brother Omar Bari and father Bashir Ahmed died in the terrorist attack.

The trio was inside a shop owned by the family when militants opened indiscriminate fire. The shop is just along the police station. Andrabi was earlier district president of the BJP and now he was associated as a member of the party’s state committee.

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah condemned the terrorist attack on the BJP functionary, his family members and offered his condolences.

“Sorry to hear about the murderous terror attack on the BJP functionaries & their father in Bandipore earlier this evening. I condemn the attack. My condolences to their families in this time of grief. Sadly the violent targeting of mainstream political workers continues unabated,” Abdullah tweeted.
