Taking a jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the face-off with China, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday said that the “Yuvraj”, “rejected twice by the people of India”, doubted the capability of the armed forces to protect the boundaries of the country.
Addressing a virtual ‘Jammu-Kashmir Jan Samvad’ rally to observe the death anniversary of Jan Sangh founder Dr Shyama Prashad Mukherjee, the Union Minister said those raising questions on the face-off with China appeared to have lost faith in the country’s armed forces.
Rahul Gandhi had repeatedly attacked the Prime Minister, accusing him of surrendering India’s territory to China.
“Nation is in safer hands and country is capable enough to protect its borders and integrity,” Pradhan said. “We don’t need a certificate from those who had surrendered Aksai Chin. We are creating adequate infrastructure in our own territory,” he said.
