MAYOR VISITS OLD CITY & INSPECTS VARIOUS DEVELOPMENT WORKS

 

Continuing the drive to provide better development & civic amenities to the people of Jammu city, Chander Mohan Gupta, mayor alongwith Advocate Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation today on 22/06/2020 visited different areas of ward no.3, 7 of old city and inspected ongoing construction works of various Nallahas at Peer Kho as well as near Jogi Gate areas. Sh Narotam Sharma Councilor of ward no.3 Sh Kuldeep kandhari,  BJP Jammu Distt General Secretary Sh Parveen kerni Jammu East Mandal President, Sh Ravi Panotra, Sh Sanjay Kumar, Madam Asha Devi, Madam Madhu Prominent residents of Peer kho area as well as Ch. Ghulam Rasool Executive Engineer alongwith his team of Division-I of JMC were also present during the tour of Hon’ble Mayor & Deputy Mayor. Mayor told that almost all the nallahas of Jammu city flows and emerges in this particular nallah below side of Peer Kho temple and the funds worth Rs 25 lacs has already been allotted to UEEED for its execution as it was the long pending demands of the residents of these particular locality who are mostly daily earners and belongs to Below poverty line and in every rainy season they were facing great hardships, Spends sleepless nights due to havoc caused by the overflowing nallahas since the last 50 years, as all their household articles get spoiled as water enters into their houses . Mayor and Deputy Mayor further told the public that a concrete RCC retaining wall is also being constructed alongside of the nallah to avoid any further damage to the houses of this locality by releasing more funds. Inhabitants thanked the Mayor, Deputy Mayor & councilor of ward no.3 for visiting their locality, listened to their problems with great patience, taking keen interest and resolving their long pending grievances.

Later they also paid inspection at prem nagar near Jogi Gate and also inspected the ongoing construction work of the nallah near Jangam mandir alongwith  Madam Ritu Choudhary. Deputy Mayor told that for the welfare of the general Public that department has already released funds worths Rs 200 crore for constructing/renovating of all the prestigious nallahas of city which are being executed either through languishing projects or UEED or JMC and said that our department is committed to provide the much required civic/deployment facilities to all the citizens of Jammu city.  They directed the concerned engineering wing to complete the remaining pending works of these nallahas with in stipulated time period and with quality material, upto the satisfaction of inhabitants of these localities also by planting more and more saplings alongside of nallahas where sufficient space is available to make the environment eco friendly  and free from any type of found smell emitting from nallahas and they also appeal to the general public to come forward & cooperate with JMC in various development works in order to make Jammu neat , clean & green city
