Continuing the drive to provide better development And Civic amenities to the people of Jammu Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor, Advocate Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor, Sh. Baldev Singh Billoria Chairman Health & Sanitation Committee, Smt Tirath Kour Raina Councillor of ward No: 58 today on 16.06.2020 conducted an extensive tour of the areas of the ward No: 56 & 58 and took stock of the ongoing various development works of two number of adjoining Green Parks at Jeevan Nagar, Jammu. Sh. Arun Gupta Executive Engineer, Sh. Anil Gupta Assistant Executive Engineer, Sh. Daleep Raina Junior Engineer concerned contractors & other prominent inhabitants of the locality were also present during the tour.
Mayor told that these Green Parks are being constructed by the Engineering Wing of JMC at the estimate cost of Rs. 3.95 lakh only alongside of Canal flowing through this locality having spread over the area of approx 9800 sq mts. Mayor further told that this a prestigious project which was started by the JMC on the demands of inhabitants of Jeevan Naagar and its adjoining localities. It has three beautiful view points, Multiplay stations for children, Benches for sitting of persons as well as Pacca Walk Way of about 8 ft breadth. He further told that about more than 90 % of the construction work has already been completed and the said activity was forced to stop due to lockdown on account of COVID-19 pandemic. He directed the concerned engineering wing of JMC to expedite the execution of this parks by planting more & more seasonal as well as other green plants and complete it within stipulated time period and make it open for the General Public so that they can avail full benefit of this parks in this Hot & Humid conditions.
Mayor alongwith Deputy Mayor, Chairman and concerned Councilor also kick started the black topping of road opposite Digiana Arsharm from Akali Kour Singh Nagar to Sukh Sehaj Palace being undertaken by Public Works Department as this road was in depilated condition having big holes and the residents were facing lot of hardships while waking from the last many years. They also inspected the ongoing construction work of Nallah flowing through this locality being executed by UEED Department at the estimated cost of Rs. 50 lakhs and asked the concerned to complete the said work with quality material well before the coming rainy season to give relief to the people. They also visited the Mohalla Petrol Pump Lane near Janta Flour Mill where the House of one Sh. Dev Raj a BJP Worker was burnt due to short circuit and lot of damage of property occurred and demanded the District Administration to provide immediate relief to the said person who has lost all his belongings in the fire.
Mayor and other dignitaries also appeal to the General public to co-operate the Jammu Municipal Corporation in various other development activities being started by JMC to make Jammu neat, clean and green city.
