Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday tested negative for COVID-19, sources said.
Mr Kejriwal showed COVID-19 symptoms of fever and soar throat on June 7, Sunday and immediately went for home isolation at his official residence.
He was tested for coronavirus on Tuesday morning and test report showing negative results came in the evening, sources said.
Aam Aadmi Party lawmaker and Delhi Jal Board vice-chairman Raghav Chadha in a tweet said, ”CM @ArvindKejriwal tests negative for Covid-19. Thank god!”
Mr Kejriwal had also cancelled all his meetings owing to his poor health, the sources said.
On behalf of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had attended the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) meeting with experts on Tuesday.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh on Monday had said, ”Chief Minister of Delhi @ArvindKejriwal Ji was complaining of fever and throat pain since June 7 afternoon. He has kept himself in isolation at home on the advice of doctors. Tomorrow, on June 9, he will have a coronavirus test. I pray to God to heal him soon.”
