Former Minister and senior Congress leader on Tuesday claimed that BJP Govt seems totally confused with regard to dealing with Covid-19 crisis, adding that When there were 500 Covid-19 cases, the government had decided to go for lockdown. Today, when the cases have reached around 1.8 lakh, then lockdown norms have been eased, except for containment zones. The government should take precautions. People should also take precautions. Everything is open now, so the Centre should especially focus on health facilities, as that is the only solution for COVID-19,” former Minister said.We have seen the mismanagement in the last one year, more particularly during the coronavirus crisis. It has been managed very badly as far as the migrants and the poor are concerned. I think Govt has let the people down in this coronavirus crisis phase, instead of giving a solution,” he added.Bhalla strongly regretted that when whole world is facing Covid-19 crisis, BJP leaders from Jammu are busy giving hype to meagre works like laying foundation stones for land-filling or inauguration of lanes, lanes and by-lanes, when as per established rules they are not supposed to do so which is only aimed to score political brownie scores amid crisis in J&K. Having failed to show any significant development to the people of Jammu, who voted them to power, the BJP is making its erstwhile lawmakers inaugurate such works, to make their presence felt after failing on all fronts while in power in J&K, said Bhalla .
Former Minister maintained that social distancing is not a matter of choice. it is a critical demand from every one of us, in order for our city and our society to remain safe. People have been taking full advantage of the relaxation in lockdown rules permitted by the government now. The health department officials, concerned about the recklessness of the people, have warned that there will be tough days ahead, and that the people need to be extremely careful. Bhalla said that the coming period will be testing for everyone. The number of people getting infected with coronavirus during this period will tell us how far our efforts have succeeded in tackling this pandemic. The department should be making all possible preparations to face this situation,” he stated. He noted that the situation will be tough unless the people pay highest attention to cleanliness, hygiene, and self-discipline. “At present, we are in a difficult position. But our future days and how we fair in the future will be decided by the results we keep getting then,” he said. Bhalla earnestly requested the people to strictly follow the government orders. He pointed out that experienced doctors have said that coronavirus can be kept at bay by wearing masks when outside, keeping the hands clean and by the regular use of sanitizers.
