Former Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today visited Channi Rama area (Ward No-49) in Gandhi Nagar assembly segment and took stock of the problems being faced by the locals.
During his visit to the area the locals raised many issues include water supply, strengthening of power infrastructure, construction of lanes and drains etc.
Randhawa gave a patient hearing to the demands of the people and directed PHE authorities to ensure adequate water supply to the area so that people may not face any difficulty in meeting out the water requirement. Regarding power infrastructure Randhawa urged upon the PDD authorities to install more poles in the area as the wires are tangling following lengthy spans between two poles. He said that the poles were installed decades ago in the area when there was very thin population and now with the increase in population infrastructure required to be upgraded. Randhawa assured the people to take up this matter with the PDD authorities to redressal.
Randhawa further said that the BJP is committed to upgrade public infrastructure for the welfare of the people. Randhawa said that all their demands would be fulfilled in phased manner as he intends to develop Gandhi Nagar as a model constituency of Jammu and Kashmir. The locals appreciated the approach of the former MLC in mitigating their problems and extended support to the BJP in coming future.
