The states and union territories were advised against diluting restrictions under the lockdown 4.0 guidelines by the Centre on Monday as the country entered the fourth phase of the nationwide lockdown to fight coronavirus.
“Despite widespread relaxations given in #Lockdown4 restrictions, States/UTs cannot dilute the restrictions imposed in MHA guidelines,” read a statement from the ministry of home affairs.
The statement further added that the states “may prohibit certain other activities or impose restrictions” as necessary.
“States/UTs must take into consideration the benchmarks/thresholds indicated in the revised guidelines issued by @MoHFW_INDIA, while delineating zones based on technical inputs at local level,” the MHA said.
