SAMBA, MAY 08: District Administration Samba has setup multiple registration centres in the district to facilitate return of migrant workers who have been stranded in the district due to lockdown restrictions amid Covid-19.
Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria said that government has issued SOPs for allowing movement of stranded persons and in this regard registration counters for registration of all the stranded migrants/ labourers who are willing to go their home districts has been setup at Bari-Brahmana, Vijaypur and Samba. He said that district officers have been deputed to supervise the overall process of registration smoothly and efficiently. “Over 10,594 migrants have registered themselves at these counters so far,” he added.
Assistant Labour Commissioner, Samba Amil Khateeb and Assistant Commissioner Provident Fund, Samba, Zahoor Choudhary have been designated to facilitate the registration of migrant workers in the district.
Officers in charge informed that interstate migrant labourers registration is going on smoothly and 4575 migrants labourers registered themselves on the first day. The total figure of registered migrant labourers has reached to 10,594 so far. The registration process is going on smoothly, proper social distancing and other precautionary measures are being followed, besides migrants labourers have been also exhorted to coordinate with administration.
ALC samba also appealed all the stranded migrant labourers to register themselves on the online portal i.e. https://www.jklabour.com/stranded/otherstatestuck for their return.
