Jammu, May 08: In the fight against COVID-19, the Government of India has come up with lot of preventive measures and in that context they have launched a mobile application both for iOS & Android user “AAROGYA SETU”, to notified the users about the people infected with COVID-19 around their surroundings and keep safe distance with them so that the virus may not contracted. BJP J&K UT State Information Technology (IT) & Social Media Department Co-Incharge Advocate Ishant Gupta while quoting the app as personal body guard said that it is everyone’s onerous responsibility to download it. He added that on the advice of BJP J&K President Sh. Ravinder Raina & BJP J&K General Secretary (Org.) Sh. Ashok Koul, BJP IT & Social Media department under the leadership of Incharge Jaidev Rajwal is working tirelessly in promoting the app so that maximum number of users may download and install it and contribute in breaking the spread chain of the deadly virus. He advised all the people of J&K to use the AAROGYA SETU to stay update with the information & precautionary measures and also to combat COVID-19 pandemic.
Advocate Ishant Gupta said that Aarogya Setu is a mobile app developed by the ministry of electronics and IT to help people identify their risk of contracting Covid-19 (Corona Virus) and has been downloaded by more than 50 million people nationwide since its launch and it has got tremendous response by the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself quoted “Aarogya Setu” app as a fantastic use of technology to combat Corona Virus pandemic and urges all fellow people to download it. He said the app is designed to keep a user informed, in case he/she crosses path with someone who has tested positive and the tracking is done through Bluetooth and location generated social graph, which can show their interaction with anyone who has tested positive.
Gupta while speaking about the features and uses of this technology has said that “Aarogya Setu App” provides its users about all the important information and guidelines issued by Government to combat with this pandemic. He informed that app is available in 11 languages on both Play Store (for Android phone users) and Apple App Store (for ioS users). He further stated that due to lockdown across country, all fellow citizens are inside their homes and during this difficult time “Aarogya Setu App” is a great tool to get authentic updates about COVID-19 and also the user, upon installation, is asked to answer a number of questions, in case some of the answers suggest COVID-19 symptoms, the information will be sent to a Government server and the data will then help the Government take timely steps and initiate the isolation procedure if necessary and it also alerts if someone comes in close proximity with a person tested positive. He added that one new feature has been added to this app and through this feature users now get details about e-Pass. He urges all the people of J&K to download it and insist others also.
