Gurudwaras across the nation and in Jammu particular are doing real service to humanity by serving needy people in the toughest time by providing them food and other essentials following lockdown amid coronavirus scare.
The former Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, said this after visiting Gurudwara Sahib of KC Colony, Gangyal in Gandhi Nagar assembly segment which is providing food to around 200-300 families everyday since the day one of the lockdown which was announced by the government to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus. He said that the Sikh Sangat is doing real service to humanity by serving the needy people.
Randhawa later visited various areas like Jawahar Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Nanak Nagar and Preet Nagar and distributed ration and masks among the needy people. While distributing ration and masks Randhawa ensured proper social distancing and urged upon the people to stay inside their houses unless it is very necessary to go out. He also made people aware to sanitise and to wear masks while going out. He urged people to follow the mantra of “2 Gaz Ki Duri” (keep distance of two meters) which was given by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to keep virus away. He also urged people to wash their hands after different intervals with soap.
He said that the danger is yet not over and the people have to learn new ethics of living to save themselves from the corona infection until and unless a proper vaccine is discovered.
