Appreciating untried efforts and services of frontline Corona Warriors in fight against deadly pandemic COVID – 19, Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith Sh. Mohinder Kumar Bhagat Councillor of ward no: 61 today on 02.05.2020 honoured front line warriors who are performing their duties with full dedication and hard work by abiding guidelines of lockdown which includes Sh. Kousheen Koul SDPO (Sub Divisional Police Officer) Donama and his team of Police Personnel of concerned Choki as well as SKC’s of Ward No: 61 at Bhori Chowk, Tallab Tillo, Jammu Sh. Darshan Choudhary, Sh. Hans Raj Manhas, Smt. Sharda Koul, Smt. Anju Bala, Smt. Arti Pandita & Madam Archna Koushal and other Prominent residents of wards were also present on this occasion. Mayor said that the Police Personnel, SKC’s, Doctors, Media Persons etc are contributing their services dedicatedly to serve mankind and Working Hard during day & night for the safety of General Public. Their job is highly appreciable in this crucial period and we are felicitating them for their exemplary services. Hon’ble Prime Minister has already taken a bold step for security of Corona Warriors which is appreciated by the people of the Country and he appeal to the Citizens to stay home, besides obeying lockdown restriction to stay fit as these Warriors are the real heroes our society, risking their own lives for the sake of the people during lockdown. Mayor also requested sanitation staff and police personnel to maintain proper social distancing while performing their duty besides following strict measures of self sanitization to keep their own families safe too.
Mayor also chaired a meeting with heads of the newly created Engineering Divisions of Jammu Municipal Corporation by adopting proper guidelines and social distancing to review the development works within the limits of Jammu Municipal Corporation which has been stopped due to nationwide lockdown. Sh. Tarseem Lal Thappa Joint Commissioner (Works), Sh. Gulam Rasool Executive Engineer Div- I, Sh. Arun Gupta Executive Engineer Div-II, Sh. Ashwani Kumar Executive Engineer Div-III, Sh. Sunil Kumar Executive Engineer Div-IV, Sh. Mohit Mahajan Executive Engineer Project Division, Sh. Ashwani Sethi Executive Engineer UEEED were present during the meeting. Mayor directed all of them to take necessary measures and start the pending development works in all the wards of Jammu Municipal Corporation as per the demand of concerned Hon’ble Councillors by adopting proper Social Distancing of the labourers deployed and other protocol / guidelines of District Administration in the interest of General Public as well as keeping in view the coming rainy season and also initiate the process of new Development Works as well as other Major Projects of the Jammu City at an earliest. He also appeal to the Residents of Jammu to co-operate with Jammu Municipal Corporation by adopting proper social distancing, maintaining hygienic conditions in and around their locality so that the chain of COVID-19 pandemic may be broken and the development works in their area may be carried on successfully.
