With an aim to provide succour to hundreds of needy families, volunteers of Team Jammu continued to provide dry ration to downtrodden during the ongoing period of Covid-19 lockdown.
As government has started providing free ration to labourer class hailing from different states of the country, and also local markets are by and large closed, Team Jammu today distributed door to door dry ration to majority of local populace that included people working in malls, shops, restaurants, families of drivers, conductors, autorickshah pliers, women working as maid in houses besides local labourers. Team Jammu also demanded that such needy local populace also requires government’s attention and kindness by distributing free dry ration to them as well.
Making a fervent appeal to Jammuites, Chairman Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal today asked the volunteers to ensure no one sleeps hungry in their respective localities. He said we can Unitedly fight out Corona virus while adhering to Health advisories besides helping needy people.
Extending a helping hand, volunteers of Team Jammu today provided dry ration to at least 42 needy families in Janipur Khadd area, 40 families living near Talli Morh and Vikas Nagar, 50 families in Gurha Chabilian locality, 35 families living near Guru Ravi Dass Temple, Rajpura and 25 families in Shiv Nagar, who were unable to feed themselves because of the ongoing lockdown in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.
For approaching the needy people at the time of complete lockdown, the Team Jammu is taking help of local Police.
According to Zorawar Singh Jamwal, the Team Jammu volunteers are collecting ration from those who want to help the poor and needy at this time of crisis and them these ration items are packed in bags keeping in view needs of each family. Thereafter, with the help of local Police, we go to different parts of Jammu and handover these ration packets to the needy families.
Zorawar Jamwal said that the Team Jammu would continue its mission of serving needy people and more such families would be provided ration till lockdown period.
