Salutes essential service providers engaged in fight against COVID-19, on Labour day.
Jammu May 01: 1st May is celebrated as the International Labour Day or workers day an occasion to commemorate the contribution of workers and the historic labour movement in building the world that we live in today.
National Conference Senior Leader and former MLA from Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar said that workers day this year is not an occassion to greet workers as they are without food and work amid the lockdown and hoped that the workers who were stuck in different parts of country will reach home safely.
Mr Jabbar said that this Labor Day, remember to salute the determination and hard work of countless workers who have kept the global economic engine running despite being hit the hardest by the COVID-19 crisis.
“I Salute to all the warriors who are working tirelessly, may this pass soon and may there be peace, peace and peace”, Jabbar said.
While standing with the frontline workers – employees of all essential services and those in the health sector doing their best for the populace in difficult times, demands from the government to clear the wages and salaries of economically weaker section of employees especially daily wagers , contingent paid employees, causal labours, seasonal labours, HDF employees to save their families from starvation at this difficult time,” Jabbar said while urging the government to regularise their services.
He said majority of these employees are serving the people at this difficult time and are fighting COVID19 by putting their lives at risk when everybody is under fear, Jabar further said.
Mr Jabbar demanded that transporters should be also included in the financial package announced yesterday by Governor Admintration.
