With a view to give a boost to industrial activities in the District, Managing Director SIDCO Ravinder Kumar and Director Industries & Commerce Jammu Anoo Malhotra today inspected five chunks measuring nearly 3500 kanals of state land which included three chunks of 2000 kanals land at Mand and two chunks of 1400 kanals land at village Sein Thakran to give a boost to industrial activities in the District.
During the visit, General Manager DIC Udhampur Suram Sharma apprised that this land was recently transferred to Department of Industries for Industrial purpose which falls in Villages Mand and Sein Thakran in Udhampur District along National Highway which have immense industrial potential due to its strategic location.
They were further apprised that nearly 13000 kanals of State Land was proposed for industrial purpose by District Administration out which 8527.05 kanals of state land stands transferred to the department which is highest among all Districts in the Union Territory.
GM DIC informed the visiting Officers that the land can be proposed for sectors like IT Park, Harnessing of Wind and Solar Energy, Food Storage, Truck Yard, Stone Quarrying, Adventure Sports, Herbal products, Silk Rearing & Reeling, Health Tourism, Milk Processing, Cold Storage, Food Parks, Bamboo Cluster etc.
The visiting officers asked SE and Executive Engineer SIDCO to immediately take possession of land and start fencing after demarcation. Director asked GM DIC Udhampur to propose sectors well suited to the terrain of each site so that investors can be attracted for Industrial Development.
