Former Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today said that the frontline corona warriors like health workers, police personnel, employees on essential duties, journalists are saving human lives and deserves to be honoured for their dedication and hard work.
While initiating a campaign to hounour corona warriors Randhawa today honoured Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) including Commissioner Avny Lavasa and other officials for their outstanding work during COVID-19 pandemic.
Applauding the role of the JMC, Randhawa today presented a certificate of commendation to the Commissioner JMC in her office chamber in the presence of other officials which include Ashish Gupta Joint Commissioner, Tina Mahajan Secretary, Dr Shamim Mir Health Officer, Sudhir Bali CTO and Rakesh Gupta.
While speaking on the occasion Randhawa said that the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) being a frontline corona warrior has done commendable job during this pandemic under the dynamic control of Ms Avny Lavasa. He said that the young officer took it upon herself and personally inspected many sanitization and fumigation drives in almost all the areas within the limits of JMC which deserve applauds.
Randhawa said that sanitization of areas and fumigation were tools to maintain proper hygiene and to keep the virus away which has claimed around 2 lakh human lives worldwide. He said that it was the hard work of the officials of the JMC and other frontline corona warriors that Jammu has witnessed least number of cases and the situation by large is well under control.
Randhawa further said that even the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has applauded the role of the corona warriors and has urged people to boost their morale. In this context the people were urged to applaud the role of these corona warriors during ‘Janta Curfew’.
