Sub Divisional Magistrate Karnah escaped unhurt along with his guard and diver after a snow avalanche hit their vehicle at Sadhna top this afternoon while on way to Kupwara.
Officials told News Agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that this afternoon vehicle of SDM Karnah Dr Bilal along with his driver and security personnel was hit by snow at Sadhna and were rescued unhurt.
Official said that the SDM had left for Kupwara from Karnah Tangdhar early this afternoon while on reaching Sadhna top a snow valance washed swayed their vehicle to a little distance and buried the vehicle there.
In the incident diver of the vehicle has suffered minor injured, while the SDM Dr Bilal and his security guard were rescued safely under the snow with no injury, the official said.
He also said that the diver has suffered minor injured and was given first aid at local army unit who initially led the rescue operation to retrieve them.
The official furthermore said that police has also reached the spot and are trying to uncover the vehicle dumped under the snow, adding that no civilian or anyone else was hurt in the mishap
