Atal Dulloo reviews arrangements for establishing COVID-19 hospitals by Army at Jammu, Srinagar

Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education, Atal Dulloo today chaired a meeting along with Major General Hari Mohan Iyer to review the arrangements put in place for the establishment of COVID-19 Hospitals by Army at Jammu and Srinagar.

Threadbare discussions were held on measures being taken by the Health authorities for providing sufficient infrastructure to combat COVID-19 spread and provide best possible facilities to such patients.

The meeting discussed various steps taken for quick completion of the task. The meeting was informed that the efforts are on to establish 250 bed hospital at Rangreth, Srinagar in shortest possible time.

The Director Health Services Kashmir was directed to provide every support regarding the men and machinery and other equipments to make the hospital functional in shortest possible time.

The meeting was further informed that another 100 bed COVID-19 care centre, (hospital) at Army Public School, Domana is also being set up on the pattern of Rangreth COVID-19 hospital Srinagar. The Director Health Services, Jammu and the Army Officers were directed to ensure for providing all necessary facilities to make it functional within next 2-3 days.

The FC appreciated the support given by the Army in establishing COVID-19 hospital facilities at quick notice.

Major Hari Mohan Iyer assured the civil authorities of full cooperation in the management of COVID-19 hospitals as it is the need of the hour in this time of crisis.

The meeting was attended by the Director, New Medical Colleges J&K, Dr Yashpaul Sharma, Managing Director JKMSCL, Shiv Kumar Gupta, Director Health Services Jammu, Kashmir,  Colonel, Medical 26 Infantry Division, D Jayachandar, Joint Director, Planning Health, Madan Lal and Army Officers of Northern Command Udhampur also participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
