In view COVID-19 pandemic and with the intention to reach each any every individual of district Kishtwar particularly in the inaccessible and remote Marwah and Warwan area,
District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Rajinder SinghTara today visited the remote Marwah and Warwan area of Kishtwar and reviewed the preparedness of the area to combat the COVID-19 pandemic besides took stock of essentials there.
He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pawan Parihar,SDM Marwah Dr Mohsin Raza among others.
During the visit to Warwan area DDC distributed 1000 re-usable cotton masks among the people of Warwan, dropped essential medicines, took stock of ration availability and reviewed the facilities at quarantine centres established there.
He also educated
people about various SOPs and protocols for prevention from COVID-19 including maintaining social distance, frequent hand washing and universal usage of mask.
BDC Chairperson Warwan was asked to ensure that reusable cotton maks are locally prepared through Rural Development Department and are distributed among all the residents of Warwan Block.
People of the area also demanded for early restoration of road connecting the Marwah and Warwan area to Anantnag and kishtwar District
Responding to their demands DDC said that the only road connecting the area to other parts of UT shall be restored very soon.
Later on DDC also visited the Marwah area and there also he distributed 4000 masks and sanitizers among the public, dropped medicines and also briefed the people about the various SOPs and measures to be taken to prevent themselves from cronona virus infection.
He also visited the CHC Marwah and quarantine centres established there and took stock of essential medicines, ration and other facilities.
Lauding the efforts of Health Department,Police and army in containment of this disease in the area through educating the masses and keeping close vigil on any one entering the area,DDC asked them to be extra vigilant now as the snow on the higer reaches is melting and people from outside the area willl find it easy to sneak in the area.
In this direction he asked them to seal all the entry points besides asked the people and authorities there to report to the administration any out of UT or out of area person entering their area, so that necessary steps could be taken in time.
BDC Chairman Marwah was also asked to locally prepare the re-usable cotton masks through RDD and distribute them among all the residents of the area.
