JMC feeding of stray cattles, dogs and other animals in and around the vicinity of Jammu City.

  Continuing its pragmatic and forthcoming initiatives during the ensuing COVID-19 Pandemic, Jammu Municipal Corporation under the guidance of Hon’ble Mayor, JMC Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta and Hon’ble Deputy Mayor, JMC Adv. Purnima Sharma under the supervision of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation Ms. Avny Lavasa (IAS) and executed by Municipal Veterinary Officer, Dr. Sushil Kumar Sharma has initiated the process of feeding of stray cattles, dogs and other animals in and around the vicinity of Jammu City. In such an initiative Commissioner JMC today  personally visited the Narwal, Bye Pass, channi, Bahu Fort, Transport Nagar adjoining areas etc and insured the feeding of strays including cattle and stray dog

JMC is ensuring that no stray animal is left unfed and is daily providing green fodder sourced from R.S Pura and surrounding areas, Vegetable waste from Narwal Mandi to stray cattle in JMC limits. Besides this, stray dogs are also being fed biscuits and other food materials on daily basis. Fore bearing Public health in mind JMC is ensuring that the stray animals remain healthy to avoid any concomitant spread of any other zoonotic diseases, for which daily Health surveillance is being carried out in JMC limits under the guidance of Municipal Veterinary Officer. JMC has earlier also appealed to all the Jammuites and NGO’s to ensure that stray animals are fed.
