Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today chaired a meeting of the head of departments and Deputy Commissioners to review the implementation of different government schemes.
At the outset, the Div Com reviewed the implementation of health related schemes. The concerned officers apprised the Div Com about achievements and their ground impact.
Nodal officer, National Health Mission, Dr Harjeet Rai gave a detailed presentation on the health related schemes including Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi (RAN), Health Minister’s Cancer Relief Fund (HMCRF), Ayushman Bharat, besides schemes with provision of financial assistance for patients suffering from rare diseases and the poor patients. The Deputy Commissioners also cleared the queries regarding various schemes.
The Div Com exhorted upon the concerned officers to spread awareness among general public about all these financial assistance schemes so that eligible and poor people could avail the benefits of the same.
He directed the NHM and Health department to conduct visits in each district of the division and organise special camps/conferences with BDCs, BMOs, CMOs, BDOs along with other district officers and share guidelines of financial assistance schemes.
The Div Com also reviewed the progress on issuance of Kissan Credit Cards to left out beneficiaries. The Deputy Commissioners and CAOs apprised the Div Com about the present status of KCC scheme in their respective districts. It was informed that a total of 58705 old dormant KCCs have been renewed and 31309 new Cards have been issued across Jammu Division.
The Div Com directed the DCs and other concerned officers to ensure 100% coverage of beneficiaries under KCC scheme. He also directed them to cover the left out cases under the scheme, with active involvement of Lead Bank.
The Div Com also reviewed the progress on allotment of school buildings left vacant after their merger to other institutions, to the departments in the division. It was informed that 156 vacant school buildings have been allotted to various departments in Jammu division.
It was informed that the school buildings were lying vacant after merging of schools and the government has directed for using these for housing Sub Health Centres, Anganwari Centres, Panchayat Ghars, Patwar Khanas, Skill Development Centres, Umeed Groups, etc, as per the requirement of the area.
Meanwhile, the Div Com asked the telecom companies to strengthen their network in the remote areas of various districts in division. He asked them to conduct visits and assess the situation in remote areas as many complaints have came into notice of government that people are facing problems in remote villages of the division due to poor network connectivity.
The meeting was attended by Director Rural Development Sudarshan Kumar; ADDC, Jammu, Ramesh Chander; Deputy Director Planning, Chaman Lal, besides senior functionaries of Health, Agriculture, representatives of BSNL, Banks, and private telecom companies and other concerned officers.
The Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division along with other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.
