Principal Secretary Planning, Development, Monitoring and Information Rohit Kansal and Secretary Agriculture Production and Horticulture Manzoor Ahmed Lone today held a public outreach programme here to listen to issues and grievances of people.
During the programme, deputations and individuals from across the Jammu region met with the Administrative Secretaries to highlight their issues being faced by them.
A deputation from Sanasar Welfare & Development Group (SWDG) demanded Tubular structures be provided to local farmers so that they can grow nurseries and later transplant them on land and sell them in Jammu and other local markets.
SWDG also demanded to introduce good quality planting material of walnut, almond, etc in the Sanasar village which has a huge potential of becoming a temperate zone dry fruit region.
A deputation from Panchayat Kotli Bajalian, Katra demanded upgradation of Government High School, Namain to Higher Secondary level, establishment of Community Hall in the Panchayat, construction of Gate at Dev Mai Chowk and landscaping of the track from Deva Mai Chowk to Hanuman Temple, establishment of Kendriya Vidyalaya, and blacktopping of local roads.
Similarly other deputations and individuals projected various issues pertaining to developmental needs of their respective areas.
The Administrative Secretaries gave a patient hearing to the issues and demands projected during the camp and assured the deputations and individuals that all of their genuine issues would be looked into and addressed on priority.
They also gave directions to the concerned authorities to take appropriate steps to clear all pending public related works.
Deputy Director, Horticulture Jammu, Shafiqa Khalid, Tehsildar Suchetgarh, Gandeep Kumar, Chief Agriculture Officer Jammu, F A Bhat and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
